Decode Matter with Ubiqua

Parameters

  • I2RKey and R2IKey

These keys are 16 bytes length and are the product of both CASE and PASE sessions.

  • Source Node ID

The Source Node ID is 8 bytes length and is set to the Operational Node ID of the node originating security protection to the message[1].

Two Source Node ID will be needed, the Initiator and the Responder.

NOTE: Each new Session Data Phase (after a CASE and PASE session), new keys and Source Node IDs will be created. They will need to be added every new session.

How to add security keys

Add Security Keys

  1. Open Tools > Preferences in the main menu. Then go to the Security tab:

  1. Add the I2RKey and R21Key keys by clicking in the icon to open the Add Key window and select any of the Matter Key options, enter one of the keys and click in the Add button, do the same with the remaining key (the order of entering the keys does not matter):

  1. Check the entered keys are added to the Matter I2R Key and Matter R2I Key lists:

How to add source node IDs

  1. Go to the Network tab in the same Preferences window and locate the Nodes ID list:

  1. Open the Add Node ID window by clicking in the icon, enter a Source Node ID and click in the Add button:

  1. The Node IDs will be added to the Nodes ID list:

  1. Click OK in the Preferences window to save change.

Finally, open the capture to which the entered Keys and Node IDs correspond, or check that the packets being captured in the current Session are being decrypted.
